GISD uses PrinterLogic to help you install printers on your campus. This method will only work for Windows computers. If you have a Mac you will need to enter a service request for your campus technician. GISD does not support printing from iPads or Chromebooks.
From a Windows computer you'll first need to install the PrinterLogic client. Follow these steps:
- Click the magnifying glass icon in the lower left corner of your screen
- Enter Software Center
- Click the Software Center When it appears in the search results
- In Software Center find the PrinterLogic 18 Installer and click it.
- You can also go there directly by pointing your web browser to https://printerlogic.georgetownisd.org/
In the Chrome browser you may see a message about needing an extension installed. Click Install.
You may then need to click "Add Extension" on the next popup window.
You will see printers for whichever campus you currently located at. In the example the computer is physically located at Benold Middle School. If this is a laptop, and I take it to Georgetown HS, I will then see the printers at GHS rather than BMS. You will always see whatever general use printers are available at whichever campus you visit. You do not need to request rights before you visit the campus. You will be able to install that campuses printers once you physically arrive at that campus.
Now you can click on the name of any printer and it will install on your computer. One annoying thing about PrinterLogic is that if the PrinterLogic client is being updated on your computer (which, sadly, is most likely to happen when you are trying to install a printer) you'll get an error indicating you don't have rights to install the printer. Just wait about one minute and try again.
When you click the printer you wish to install you will see a confirmation screen. Click Yes.
